This page lists all published Seaworld and Busch Gardens ride height restrictions for the main theme parks and also both water parks so you can be informed before you go.

Know before you go!

Seaworld have moving away from the show based spectaculars of the past to a more adrenaline packed thrill spectacle but there is still plenty for younger visitors to enjoy in Orlando’s most laid back day out.

Busch Gardens, meanwhile, is Florida’s thrill capital. It is also a world class zoo packed with attractions, experiences and animals for younger visitors to explore.

Seaworld Orlando

Marine life conservation in action with added thrills

Seaworld’s rebranding into adventure parks has added much needed thrills over the last few years at the expense of family offerings.

That changed in 2019 with Sesame Street taking over Shamu’s Happy Harbour. This area is completely different to Busch Gardens Sesame Street Land so if you’re thinking of doing both young children will certainly not be bored.

Busch Gardens Tampa

Plenty to occupy younger visitors despite this park being labelled the adrenaline capital of Florida.

If you are a teenager chances are that a visit to Bush Gardens will be high on your list.

As one of the top zoo institutions in the U.S.A. Bush Gardens Tampa has plenty to offer younger visitors beyond Sesame Street Land.

It is great as a day trip if you are going to be based in Orlando but if you want to twin Orlando thrills with a week of calm by the sea Busch Gardens offers welcome relief from some of the U.S. best beaches.

Seaworld And Busch Gardens Ride Height Restrictions – Water Parks

Some attractions are for younger children only so the height restriction is maximum not minimum

Aquatica by Seaworld

It’s hard to believe that Aquatica is now over a decade old.

Aquatica is the perfect calming day out for those that want a break from Disney.

The pastel colours and Caribbean theming mix well with some of the best water slides in Orlando.

Add in plenty of sun loungers and one of the largest wave pools in Orlando what’s not to love about this Caribbean slice of heaven in the middle of Orlando.

Adventure Island

Not the largest water park but if you’re in the area you could do far worse than a day visit here.

Adventure Island is Tampa’s water park.  If you are basing yourself in the area it is a perfect way to cool off while offering something for everyone.

If you are only staying in Orlando it could be hard to justify a day trip here with so many larger competing water parks right on your doorstep.

Seaworld And Busch Gardens Ride Height Restrictions – Fine Print

Some common questions about ride restrictions and how to use the information on this page

When Are These Updated?

This page was last updated in July 2021. If you have any questions a Seaworld Parks and Resorts representative can answer them for you either by phone or on email.

What About Disabilities?

Seaworld was the first certified autism theme parks in the U.S. A 22 page document can be downloaded from the ride accessibility program section of the Seaworld website which also has contact information for further help.  Busch Gardens also has it’s own ride accessibility program.

How Can I Experience A Ride If My child is Too Small To Ride?

Seaworld and Busch Gardens operates a child swap facility within their parks.  Each park operates in a slightly different way but out of all the main parks in Orlando these are the most generous with your time.

Seaworld Or Busch Gardens. Which One Is Best With Young Children?

Both parks offer plenty for younger visitors with a huge focus on animals and conservation. Older children will want to ride the bigger rides at Busch Gardens but Seaworld also has some of the best roller coasters in Orlando.

Does Seaworld Parks Publish These?

In a roundabout sort of way yes, you can find a list on the Seaworld Parks corporate website. The Busch Gardens website will make you look at each attraction individually.

Is This Every Ride With Restrictions?

Seaworld and Busch Gardens are frustrating websites to get any clear information out of. The lists you see on this page are taken from the Seaworld Parks corporate website but I suspect there are more attraction restrictions than they list. If in doubt check the individual attraction page.

Is Child Swap Available At Every Attraction In Universal Orlando

There is frustratingly very little information about child swap inside the parks on both Seaworld and Busch Gardens websites. It is best to assume that child swap is only available on the most popular and newer attractions.

If Each Park Has It's Own Water Park Which Do I Choose?

Adventure Island in Tampa is a great water park but only if you are staying there on a twin centre holiday. With the quality of other water parks around Orlando it wouldn’t make sense to travel all that way for what you can get on your doorstep.
