These are the last 3 months’ crowd calendars for Islands of Adventure in 2026.

Unlike other parks, which typically extend holiday celebrations into the first few days of the new year, Universal’s holiday celebrations finish promptly. The heavier crowds stay for newer attractions in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which remain incredibly popular.

• There are no special events scheduled in January at Islands Of Adventure.

February in Islands of Adventure remains much like January. Busier at weekends but average crowds mid-week when locals are working. The week following Presidents’ Day will see a bump in attendance, but nothing near as bad as Christmas.

Spring Break is a rite of passage for college students. However, it has no defined date. Expect heavier crowds generally from the middle of March through the first week of April.  If you want a quiet time, avoid most of March and April if you can.

• March – May: Butterbeer Season

April continues to be popular. Universal’s popular coming-of-age ‘Grad Bash’ event for High school seniors significantly increases attendance and closes the parks early on select days during the last half of the month. Avoid park days on these events if you can.

In May, high school seniors have their coming-of-age event, Gradventure, at Universal Orlando. It would be advisable to avoid these dates if you can, or do something off-resort on the days the event is happening.

June heralds the start of the US School holidays in many US States, running through to the first week of August. Dates vary by state and region, so some schools follow our system of holidays, which return in early September. As a general rule, expect some schools to be closed from late May through late August, with the peak from mid to late June through early August.

Now every US state school is guaranteed to be off you can expect crowds to be uniformly busy throughout the whole month, with weekdays just as busy as weekends. June, July and most of August are your best chances to see the popular Hogwarts Always projection show, which runs on select nights through the year. Check the Hogwarts Always show schedule ahead of your visit.

August is one of the quietest months to visit Florida due to the oppressive heat and humidity, particularly the last half of the month once many U.S. schools have returned. When visiting during summer, always plan for rain in the afternoon, but remember it can happen at any time of the day and in any month.

Beyond Labor Day, September is largely a buffer month between summer holidays and Halloween. Universal concentrates its Halloween efforts on Universal Studios next door, but on nights when Halloween Horror Nights is on, Islands Of Adventure will remain open later. Evenings can get busy on event nights.

While October daytimes in Universal Orlando aren’t as quiet as September crowds, you should find Islands Of Adventure pleasantly crowd-free compared to June, July and December with either average or just above average crowd levels.

Weekends are typically moderately busy as locals flock to the parks outside of work for some Christmas cheer. Try to avoid days surrounding Thanksgiving, a hugely popular public holiday in America, which fills all the parks to bursting. Hogwarts Always typically returns to the park late in November and all through December. Check the Hogwarts Always show schedule ahead of your visit.

The first fortnight is the “quietest” time to visit to see Islands Of Adventure in full on Christmas mode without the crowds of the last fortnight, but even these two weeks aren’t as quiet as they used to be with “Grinchmas” and “Christmas in the Wizard World” events keeping crowds flocking into the park.
