about orlando planning guide, hello my name is Ryan

My Story

My name is Ryan and I have had a lifelong passion for travel that steered me to the travel industry out of school. I ultimately ran multiple branches of Thomas Cook in the Home Counties for over 5 years.

While I may have left the business of travel behind me, my passion for travel has never been stronger as you can see from this photo of me in Patagonia.  Beyond theme parks, I enjoy adventure and small group trips. You can see some of my travels in my travel blog, ytravelthere.com.  Maybe you will see something there that will inspire you to explore this wonderful world we call home.

The Story So Far

Orlando Planning Guide

I was fascinated with Orlando theme parks from a very young age. While I was working in the travel industry, Disney introduced a program called the ‘College Of Disney Knowledge’ specifically for travel agents, of which I am a graduate. I have been specialising in all things Orlando, not just Disney World ever since.

Orlando Planning Guide is the product of many planned Orlando itineraries for friends, family and clients while I was working as a travel agent.  Feedback has always been universally positive.  In recent years people have said that their friends would also value the information I can provide.

Orlando Planning Guide was born in 2018 after 14 months of planning and a steep learning curve in building a website from scratch. This has led me to another online venture, RC Media Design, my small business website design consultancy.

Since its inception, Orlando Planning Guide has grown in content and popularity but with the same vision. To help first-time visitors plan their very best Orlando Holiday.

F.A.Q.s

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a lot of information available online already?

Yes.  A lot of the answers people seek can be found online but not all in one specific point of contact.  If you have never visited Orlando before you will have plenty of questions. You may not know where to begin planning.

With the website and free downloads, Orlando Planning Guide aims to be your ultimate guide as you plan your perfect trip.  What is going to set Orlando Planning Guide apart is the relationship I want to have with you.

I am not a faceless website, I genuinely want to help you.  Anything you can’t find on the website, please get in touch.

Why U.K focused?

Because I’m British!

A lot of websites about Orlando come from US origins so a lot of U.K. based information gets lost in a myriad of websites.  The UK is a very important international market for the theme parks that offer deals specific to us.

In me, you have a travel trained professional that loves Orlando but understands the frustrations of travellers.

I've never been before, where do I even begin?

There is a lot of information to digest, particularly for first-time visitors, and a website is sometimes not the best outlet for that information which is why Orlando Planning Guide offers lots of free resources to help you plan better.

Use these free tools so you can digest the information at your own pace and without the need for an internet connection.  My holiday planning guide is now on its third version and has expanded from 50 to over 80 pages. You can download it absolutely free as a thank you by subscribing to my blog.

Can you help us plan our trip personally?

Absolutely I can! Take advantage of someone that has been there and made all the mistakes. I can even help you with the booking process if you like.

You have access to your own secure portal where we can communicate safely and where you can store important travel documents. Access all my free planning guides and tools all in one place and get a completely personalised itinerary so you can make the most of your time in Orlando.

Do you sell any of the services you recommend?

At the moment no.  In order to sell a lot of travel services, I would need to obtain an ATOL licence which, as you can imagine, is very expensive.

The information provided throughout the website is my own personal opinion based on more than 20 personal visits to Orlando over the last 20+ years.

There are some affiliate links on the website pages which will provide a small commission to help the running costs of the website in the absence of any advertising but you will not pay any more than if you visit the websites concerned directly.

We aren't UK based but love your site. Can we still use your information?

Absolutely you can! The pricing section, especially tickets may not apply to you as I only look at UK specific ticket packages. Please check what your ticket packages do and don’t offer compared to what I state on the website.
