January 2025

February 2025

February in Islands of Adventure remains much like January. Busier at weekends but average crowds mid week when locals are working.

The first public holiday of the year, Presidents Day brings crowds out once again all week and the previous weekend so the last full week of February is the worst time to visit in the whole month.

March 2025

Spring Break in 2025 begins for some on the 8th March running through most of the rest of the month and into April. Expect heaver crowds at weekends throughout the month.

If you are looking for a quiet time in the parks you might want to give late March (and a lot of April) a bit of a wide berth.

If you are out in Universal in March look out for one of the many St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, particularly in Universal’s Citywalk, in the middle of the month. They sure know how to throw a party.

April 2024

With a later Easter in 2025 compared to 2024 plus Universals popular Grad Bash events taking over the resort on several days, April in 2025 will be a busy month.

Avoiding the peak Spring Break crowds (and Grad Bash dates), late April can be a great time to visit for warm weather and average crowds without the humidity of the summer months.

May 2025

Low to moderate crowds coupled with fantastic weather and no significant public holidays until the end of the month make May a brilliant time to visit Orlando if you want to avoid peak crowds but still have the weather.

Grandventure dates sprinkled through the month will keep the resort busier on certain dates (with parks closing earlier than normal) as middle schools take their turn to celebrate graduation with the Gradventure.

The better weather brings out more locals at the weekends but weekdays can be a lot more crowd free particularly at the start of the month.

June 2025

June heralds the start of the US School holidays in many US States running through to the first week of August.

Expect busy crowds and turbulent weather, especially in the afternoons, along with extended park opening hours and long lines for popular attractions.

Days are universally busy with no better time to visit over any other day like weekdays compared to weekends in May. You will find that the park will be open latest during June and July to deal with the extra influx of visitors.

July 2025

Now every US state school is guaranteed to be off you can expect crowds to be uniformly busy throughout the whole month. Weekends are just as busy as weekdays with the park remaining open until around 10 pm to deal with the extra crowds.

The last week of July can be marginally busier once international schools are also on their summer holidays but there really is very little difference between the beginning or the end of the month.

If you want to guarantee your attraction is going to be operating your best months to visit are June and July to coincide with the US School holiday system.

August 2025

August is a quiet month to visit Islands Of Adventure if you need to visit during UK school summer holidays.

US School term starts the second week of August. If you want to experience a lot of the fireworks and entertainment you will be better sticking to early August as park hours and entertainment budgets will be cut when US schools return to their classrooms.

Remember that hurricane season in Florida runs from June through September so there is a small chance your holiday may be impacted but it’s usually only one or 2 days as a worst case scenario.

September 2025

September is largely a buffer month between summer holiday madness and Halloween celebrations which actually start in neighbouring Universal Studios Florida around the middle of the month.

September weekdays are some of the quietest in the park all year as people hold off visiting until the weekends when they can also do Halloween Horror Nights at USF. As a separately ticketed (and increasingly expensive add-on) many locals avoid the parks all together in the day and just visit HHN.

On event days you should expect Islands Of Adventure to become busier around 5 pm as Universal Studios Florida shuts to convert into HHN so visitors will spend their last 2 hours in IOA.

October 2025

October has always been a popular time for people to visit Orlando because of separate ticketed events at Universal Studios Florida and at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World.

While October day times in Universal Orlando aren’t quiet as quiet as September crowds you should find Islands Of Adventure pleasantly crowd free compared to June, July and December with either average or just above average crowd levels.

November 2025

November in Orlando is largely another buffer month in between two popular holiday celebrations. As soon as Halloween ends you will see parks preparing and launching Christmas celebrations soon after.

Mid to late November is a great time to visit to see parks in full Christmas mode without the crowds that throng to the area in late December.

Weekends at Islands Of Adventure are typically moderately busy as locals flock to the parks outside of work for some Christmas cheer. Thanksgiving, a hugely popular public holiday in America, packs the parks to bursting for the last week so try to avoid visiting then.

December 2025

The first fortnight is a great time to visit to see the parks in full on Christmas mode without the crowds of the last fortnight but bear in mind the Islands Of Adventure may close earlier in December than later.

If visiting later in December, and its within your budget, consider Universal’s premium queue option, Express Pass. This will also be when it is at it’s most expensive but without it you will struggle to get all attractions done in one day at any of Universal’s parks.
