Epic Universe Crowds
My Epic Universe crowd calendar page projects crowd levels for Universal Epic Universe theme park for the next few months based on historical data and known busy periods such as public and school holidays. As well as crowds, I list all main U.S. public holidays and park-specific events that will bump attendance at the park. This page will be updated with new events as they are announced or confirmed, so please keep checking back ahead of your visit.
Known Peak Times
When deciding to visit, there are know busy periods I would advise avoiding if at all possible.
Spring Break in March/April, US schools summer holidays typically June and the first half of July. The week of Halloween and the week after Christmas from Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day.
There are also some notable bank holiday weekends in the US that are busy. Easter fortnight either side of the bank holiday, Memorial Day weekend at the end of May, Independance Day and a couple of days either side, Labor Day in late September and Thanksgiving at the end of November.
UK School Holidays
Easter: Our Easter term coincides with Spring Break in the US. The weather isn’t too hot but it will still feel warm by our standards. Parks will be packed with college kids or high school groups which can lead to a rowdy atmosphere.
Summer: Our summer holidays start at the end of many US school districts. The parks can be busy until the second week of August but will be noticeably quieter at the end and for most of September. The weather will be very hot, wet and humid.
Christmas: If you can at all avoid it I wouldn’t put yourself through it. Chirstmas is as busy as the parks will get all year. The weather though is pleasantly mild.
US School Holidays
If you’re looking for set dates for US school holidays, let me clear something up. US schools are broken up into districts. They are free to set their own holiday dates. Unlike the UK, there is no set period for traditional holidays.
Spring Break is a huge school holiday that varies by district and institution. It typically encompasses large parts of March and April to varying degrees.
Summer holidays start in June and run through, typically, the first week of August. Although some schools don’t go back until the end of August, you tend to see a noticeable downturn in crowds during the second half of August and into September.

My Epic Universe crowd calendar has been simplified, grading each day into one of 4 colours. There is an explanation of the colours under each month for ease of reference.
Epic Universe is the first and largest theme park built from scratch in the continental US over the last 2 decades. The hype surrounding this theme park and the attractions within has been stratospheric since the park was announced over 5 years ago.
The park will continue to be very popular for the next 2 or three years, so always plan to have queues here regardless of the day you visit. However, you may on occasion, be surprised how quiet it may feel. If the queues are long, don’t forget there is so much more to this park than just the headline attractions.

January Crowds
Like other parks, aside from the first week, which remains busy thanks to the ending of the holiday decorations, January is typically a lovely month to visit Epic Universe. Bear in mind that ‘Rock The Universe’, the World’s largest Christian music festival, will close Studios and Islands early for 2 nights, and the days either side may still be a little busier than usual which may naturally make Epic Universe busier than usual.

February Crowds
February in Epic Universe remains much like January. Uniformly busy, but the first few months of operation have shown Sundays to be one of the better days to visit. The week following Presidents’ Day will see a bump in attendance, but nothing near as bad as Christmas.

March Crowds
Spring Break is a rite of passage for college students. However, it has no defined date. Expect heavier crowds generally from the middle of March through the first week of April. If you want a quiet time, avoid most of March and the first half of April if you can.

April Crowds
April is a busy time in Universal with peak Spring Break crowds the first week and a half. Universal’s popular coming-of-age Grad Bash event for High school seniors significantly increases attendance closing Studios and Islands early on select days during the last half of the month, likely pushing more people to Epic Universe. Avoid these dates if you can.

May Crowds
In May, high school seniors have their coming-of-age event, Gradventure, at Universal Orlando. 2026 dates take in 3 Fridays and a Thursday evening, closing Studios and Islands early to general visitors. It would be advisable to avoid these dates if you can, or do something off-resort on the days the event is happening.

June Crowds
June heralds the start of the US School holidays in many US States, running through to the first week of August. Dates vary by state and region, so some schools follow our system of holidays, which return in early September. As a general rule, expect some schools to be closed from late May through late August, with the peak from mid to late June through early August.

July Crowds
Now every US state school is guaranteed to be off, and crowds will be uniformly busy throughout the whole month, with weekdays just as busy as weekends. Beyond July 4th, Epic Universe didn’t run a nightly fireworks entertainment schedule in its first year of operation. There hasn’t been any mention of expanded offerings in its second year of operation as yet.

August Crowds
August is one of the quietest months to visit Florida due to the oppressive heat and humidity, particularly the last half of the month, once many U.S. schools have returned. When visiting during summer, always plan for rain in the afternoon, but remember it can happen at any time of the day and in any month, and weather-related delays are more prevalent in Epic Universe, where two-thirds of the attractions are affected when storms roll through.

September Crowds
Beyond Labor Day, September is largely a buffer month between summer holidays and Halloween. Universal concentrates its Halloween efforts in Universal Studios, so if visiting in September and October. The early closing of the Studios will push more people to visit Epic Universe later in the day.

October Crowds
Halloween Horror Nights practically takes over Universal Studios in October. The only non-event nights all month are Monday and Tuesday. Every other day, the park will close early, pushing more people to other parks, including Epic Universe. Bear this in mind when choosing your day to visit.

November Crowds
The first fortnight of November is relatively quiet. Try to avoid days surrounding Thanksgiving, a hugely popular public holiday in America, which fills all the parks to bursting.

December Crowds
The first fortnight is the “quietest” time to visit Epic Universe in full-on Christmas mode without the crowds of the last fortnight. Even these two weeks aren’t as quiet as they used to be with holiday overlays in the Wizarding World areas of the parks keeping crowds flocking in.
