What Is FastPass+?
Working For you
Fastpass+ enables every person to reserve a spot on some of Disney World’s most popular rides ahead of your visit to save waiting in some multi-hour long queues.
Is It Free?
For UK bought tickets yes! It is included in the price you pay. Ticket packages bought locally need to have the Fastpass+ option added at an extra cost.
Key Differences Between Disney World’s Fastpass+ & Other Virtual Queue Systems
Know Before You Go
Between the 4 parks in Disney World, they are the most popular theme park destination on the planet. Disney lets you reserve your spot before you arrive. 60 days in advance if you stay in a Disney Owned Hotel, 30 days ahead if you stay elsewhere. Most other parks only let you reserve a spot on the day once you are inside the park by first visiting the attraction to book your return time.
Once your booking window is open, and you have registered your theme park tickets to your account you can make reservations for the rides through the My Disney Experience app on your mobile phone or through the Fastpass+ section of the Disney World Website. You are limited to 3 attractions before you arrive but can add more on the day once the initial 3 have run out.
Booking things months in advance can sometimes mean that changes are needed before you arrive and they can also be done by logging into your account or opening up the My Disney Experience App. Reservations are made in real time so there is no guarantee that the ride you want to change to is going to be available nor the times that you would like are going to suit you.
The Not So Fine Print –
Key Rules You Should Know!
3 Choices Maximum
There is a limit of 3 attractions, they can be rides or shows, that can be booked ahead of your visit. This is to make sure that the system is as far as possible to everyone. This rule also applies if you stay in a Disney owned property.
1 Park Per Day
Unlike Disneyland California’s MaxPass system, your chosen 3 attractions can only be in one park per day. All UK bought tickets allow park hopping (you can visit more than one park per day) but that doesn’t matter to your Fastpass+ reservations.
Not Everyone Has To Ride
Different people like different things. You can set up a group for reservations (great for families) but you can assign individuals to certain rides while others can try something else if the time slots match up or they can have a sit down while they wait.
More On The Day
Once you have tapped into your last Fastpass+ pre-allocation you can select another using the My Disney Experience App. Spaces can be tight on the day so grab a Fastpass for something else then you can modify the time to suit your plans for the day.
